AEW Double or Nothing featured a title change and the surprise debut of Mark Henry, who was announced as the newest analyst for AEW Rampage, which is set to debut on Friday nights on TNT starting August 13.

AEW Double or Nothing 2021 advertised 10 matches including a pre-show match between Serena Deeb and Britt Baker. Hot off the heels of Tony Khan’s fiery promo against WWE’s Nick Khan, Double or Nothing is set to air in front of a capacity crowd at Daily’s Place. The AEW Championship, the AEW Tag Team Championships, the AEW TNT Championship and the AEW Women’s World Championship were all on the line.

Last week’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite garnered 821,000 viewers.

Serena Deeb def. Riho—NWA Women’s World Championship

Serena Deeb might already be a Top 5 wrestler in all of AEW, and if this match lives up to its hype, she’ll easily break into that list.

Serena Deeb wanted no part of working babyface in this match and she was great as a heel.

Serena Deeb is now the Woman of 1,000 holds, and she earned that nickname by seemingly fitting most of those holds into this match.

Riho is now permanently located in America, just in time for these live crowds to shower her with cheers.

Riho took a double-leg dragon screw and it didn’t look like it hurt at all.

Hangman Adam Page def. Brian Cage

For whatever reason, Brian Cage decided to dress like Glacier on his way to the ring.

Hangman Adam Page got a superstar reaction, and very few AEW stars will top it over the next three hours.

The crowd shots throughout this match were so amazing, as was this match.

The Young Bucks def. Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston—AEW World Tag Team Championships

Nick Jackson’s bleached hair and nose ring are the latest obnoxious accessories in the Young Bucks’ endless arsenal.

Jon Moxley’s new “Wild Thing” theme is perfect for a full capacity crowd, which sang every word.

I’m just glad The Young Bucks didn’t fully commit to this storyline by wrestling barefoot.

Jim Ross was all over referee Rick Knox throughout this match, even calling him a “she ref” at one point.

The Young Bucks channeled Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior and The Macho Man Randy Savage to troll this audience.

As expected, the first two matches each had outside interference.

Jon Moxley’s reaction to making a hot tag will make such a great GIF.

In an exciting false finish, Moxley and Kingston hist a “Diorsday Device” on The Young Bucks.

AEW Casino Battle Royale

Max Caster’s “only when you had an Edge” line was killer, and he even managed to get “yo!” over.

These fans were not happy about Max Caster’s elimination.

AEW’s recapping of each group of wrestlers who entered was helpful in keeping track of this match and who was in it.

Fans popped huge for the tease of Matt Hardy and Christian locking up.

Penta El Zero M’s Joker gear ws phenomenal.

These fans were very pleased with the reveal of Lio Rush as the joker.

There was always a prevailing feeling that AEW was waiting for crowds to come back before they really pushed Jungle Boy, and they pulled that trigger the first chance they got.

Half the time it seemed like these announcers had no idea who was getting eliminated by whom.

Cody Rhodes def. Anthony Ogogo

Compared to the rest of this card, fans treated this like more of a popcorn match.

Cody Rhodes very fittingly wore red, white and blue wrestling boots.

This match really didn’t tell a story related to the “United States vs. United Kingdom” storyline that AEW has been promoting.

Miro def. Lance Archer—AEW TNT Championship

AEW pushed miro as a serious monster just in time for live crowds to be back, and they continue to reward that decision with great reactions for Miro.

It took Miro violently tossing Jake “The Snake” Roberts’ snake, but these people finally turned on him.

At this point, Double or Nothing is one interference away from being an ECW pay-per-view.

Britt Baker def. Hikaru Shida—AEW Women’s World Championship

The crowd was polite to Hikaru shida, but it clearly wanted Britt Baker to win this match.

Hikaru Shida was emotional before this match possibly because she knew this would be her final night as champion.

Britt Baker’s gear was reminiscent of early Kane.

This match had a couple of missed spots, but built to a great conclusion and was an overall good match.

Sting and Darby Allin def. Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page

Of course, this match featured a Blade Runners shoutout by Jim Ross.

When are fans going to realize that “you still got it” is more of a backhanded compliment than a chant?

Ethan Page threw Darby into his own brothers in the front row in an awesome spot.

Sting was a revelation in this match, which had such a great finish.

Kenny Omega def. Pac and Orange Cassidy—AEW World Championship

Orange Cassidy was he most over man in this match and it wasn’t even close.

This match was so fantastic, even when there was outside interference from Don Callis fans chanted “f—k you, Don!”

Everybody shined in this match, and even with everyone hitting on all cylinders, Orange Cassidy felt like the biggest star. If these reactions keep up, there may be no denying him becoming world champion sooner rather than later.

Mark Henry joins Big Show, Sting and a host of other surprising defections from WWE. As WWE continues to cut ties with employees and Superstars, this hardly feels like the last of the WWE-to-AEW surprise debuts.
