Watch These Titles On The World Albums Chart

[ad_1]

Just two new releases debut on this week’s World Albums chart, but when compared to most frames, that’s actually a fairly busy period for exciting titles that have just dropped. The studio efforts come from two of the biggest musical stars in South Korea, and they have both spent quite a bit of time on this specific tally before, so returning is nothing new for them.

Here are three titles to pay attention to on this week’s World Albums chart.

No. 9 – IU – Lilac

The loftiest debut this week on the World Albums chart comes from South Korean singer IU, who sees her new set Lilac open at No. 9, breaking into the highest tier by just two rungs. The colorful project is her seventh to appear on the list, with all but one spending at least one period inside the the top 10. Lilac also gives IU her highest placement in four years.

Two songs from the album, the title track and “Coin,” also appear on the World Digital Song Sales chart. Those fan favorites open at Nos. 11 and 18, respectively, this week.

No. 10 – BTS – Map of the Soul: Persona

Last week, BTS fans celebrated with the band as the septet’s beloved release Map of the Soul: Persona reached 100 turns on the World Albums chart. This frame, it continues its forward surge, as it lifts from No. 11 to No. 10, returning to the top 10 yet again. The highly successful effort spent months atop the tally when it first arrived, and it spun off as many hits as there are songs on the tracklist.

Impressively, the EP’s opening track “Intro: Persona” reappears on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 2, almost giving the septet yet another leader on that list.

No. 15 – Baekhyun – Bambi

Baekhyun has released music on his own and as a member of both EXO and SuperM, and he’s become incredibly successful in all three ventures. This week, his new solo EP Bambi barely makes it to the World Albums chart, opening at No. 15 on the 15-rung ranking. The title track from the short set hits No. 10 on the World Digital Song Sales chart at the same time.

Bambi is Baekhyun’s third solo EP to reach the World Albums chart, and it’s his first to miss out on breaking into the top 10.

Including his work with both EXO and SuperM, the musician has now landed on the World Albums tally with 19 different projects, and, shockingly, Bambi is the first to not hit the top 10 among the entire bunch.
