You’ll get the most value from the Verizon Visa Card when you take advantage of the generous bonus categories, which include 4% back on groceries and gas, 3% back on dining and takeout and 2% back with Verizon. You’ll earn 1% on all other purchases everywhere Visa Credit Cards are accepted. Rewards come in the form of Verizon Dollars, which can be used to make Verizon Wireless bill payments or Verizon purchases. Rewards dollars don’t expire, but you’ll forfeit them if no purchases, bill payments or rewards redemptions are made within 24 consecutive months.

Comparisons to Other Cards

Rewards: Verizon Visa Card holders receive 4% back at grocery stores and gas stations, 3% back on dining purchases, 2% back on Verizon purchases and 1% back on all other purchases. Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express cardholders earn 3% cash back on the first $6,000 in annual purchases at U.S. supermarkets (then 1%), 2% cash back at U.S. gas stations and many U.S. department stores, and 1% cash back on all other purchases.

Introductory bonus: The Verizon Visa Card doesn’t have a traditional introductory bonus. The Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express offers a $200 statement credit introductory bonus when you spend $1,000 in purchases on your new Card within the first 3 months.

Annual fee: Both cards waive an annual fee.
