The 10 Bestselling Albums In Korea This Week

[ad_1]

IU is having an incredible week on the Gaon charts in South Korea, as she dominates the download ranking, occupying eight of the top 10 spots, and her new full-length Lilac opens in first place on the Gaon Albums Chart. The title was the bestselling of the bunch, bringing the singer back to the highest rung for at least the fifth time in her career.

Behind IU, a handful of popular titles hold on or return to the loftiest region, with one brand taking over and dominating the frame.

Last week’s ruler, Super Junior’s The Renaissance, dips just one space, landing at No. 2. Coming in behind that former leader is another, BTS’s BE, which is already one of the most successful launches in South Korean history.

NCT 127, one of several groups to come from the NCT brand (which is the original vocal band, and due to its success, there have been several “sub-units” launched), sees their self-titled EP return at No. 4, a lofty placement for a project that’s now been out for nearly five years. It’s one of five titles connected to the NCT name to appear inside the top 10 this time around.

WayV, the Chinese-based sub-unit of NCT, sees their Take Over The Moon – Sequel reissue hit No. 5. The reissue was just released in mid-March…last year.

Blackpink singer Rosé’s first solo single album R, which features the songs “On The Ground” and “Gone,” slips from No. 4 to No. 6.

NCT bands take up the next three spaces, with NCT Dream’s We Boom settling at No. 7 while a pair of NCT 127 titles, Neo Zone and its reissue Neo Zone The Final Round, appear at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively.

Closing out the top 10 on this week’s Gaon Albums Chart, is SHINEE’s Don’t Call Me, which jumps from No. 21 to No. 10, returning to the uppermost arena yet again. It wasted no time going right to No. 1 when it was released in February.
