Monster Hunter Rise Quest Order Recommendation

To follow the story of Monster Hunter Rise and gear up appropriately, we recommend the following quest order.

Do Village Key Quests until you unlock Six Star Village Quests, then move onto Gathering Hub Key Quests. You can actually start at Four Star Gathering Hub Quests, which is when the story picks up again, by doing the Special License Quests unlocked starting at Four Star Village Quests. See How to Skip All Low-Rank Hub Quests

After completing the Four Star Key Quests and the Five-Star Urgent Quest: Comeuppance, the story is no longer told during Village Quests. The story picks up again during 4-Star Hub Quests

Village Quests can only be done in single player.
First, begin by completing the tutorial missions by speaking to Hinoa the Quest Maiden. Then, start taking on Village Key Quests. Each new rank of quests will require you to complete a certain number of these Key Quests. They are clearly marked by a red symbol to the left.

After completing the required number of Key Quests, you will unlock an Urgent Quest. Complete this to unlock new facilities, side quests, and more around Kamura Village and a new, more difficult rank of quests.

Rinse and repeat while making sure to speak to villagers with something to say to receive free items and new optional quests. Make sure to always accept optional Subquests (accepted at the Quest Counter / Hinoa) in between quests to continue earning Armor Spheres and other useful items.

Hub Quests are accepted at the Quest Counter in the Gathering Hub of Kamura Village. These are tuned for multiplayer hunts, though the difficulty adjusts dynamically based on how many hunters are on the quest.

You can skip all low-rank Hub Quests, including 1, 2, and 3-Star Hub Key Quests, by completing Special License Tests in the Village Hub. See How to Skip All Low-Rank Hub Quests.

The story continues with Four Star Hub Quests, which are considered High Rank. High Rank quests are more difficult than Low Rank quests.

Low Rank Hub Quests

High Rank Hub Quests

Unlocking High Rank unlocks a number of new features in Monster Hunter Rise, including a quest for a new submarine slot at the Argosy, Decoration forging, Armor Pigment, the ability to purchase Armorcharm and Powercharm at the merchant (recommended), and more.

The story will continue with free DLC and updates for Monster Hunter Rise at a later date, starting with one at the end of April, 2021.

Monster Hunter Rise Endgame

After completing the last Seven Star Urgent Quest (Unlocked after completing Seven Star Hub Key Quests), there is no specific new endgame. More content, including an extension to the story, will become available with free updates starting at the end of April.

Here are a few things to occupy yourself with in the meantime:
