In a time of a year, the spotlight that had always been on celebrities moved on to the global pandemic that shook everyone’s world. Almost every industry suffered and incurred losses during this time.

Bollywood and the TV industry were also severely impacted by this deadly wave of coronavirus. Celebrity management, in particular, took a backseat during this time. One of the reputed celebrity managers, Kaushal Joshi explains how COVID-19 has made the jobs of talent managers more challenging.

The well-known celebrity manager has worked and managed many big names from the telly world including Hina Khan, Krushna Abhishek, Shehnaaz Gill Bharti Singh to name a few. Kaushal says that planning and strategizing on cracking endorsement deals had become a task when the nationwide lockdown was imposed. “Almost everything was shut, and it felt like the world came to a standstill. As a celebrity manager, I believe that stepping out for meetings is important. It became a challenge when everyone had to sit home”, said Kaushal. Another challenge Kaushal emphasised was the way projects were being shot. He said before the epidemic, the actors, directors and the entire crew shot for a project independently. But now, the case is not the same. The rising cases in many parts of the world have made travelling a big challenge. Besides this, he said, “Many events and interviews that celebrity managers lined up earlier have become temporarily obsolete as social distancing has become a norm to curb the deadly virus.” Being an optimistic person, he is hopeful that things will get better soon, and it will be easier for talent managers and celebrity managers to do their work seamlessly. Apart from this, Kaushal who turned producer recently made the headlines for the song ‘Bhula Dunga’. Earlier, Joshi had expressed his desire for producing a non-fiction show or a web series. He had stated that if any interesting script comes his way, he shall surely produce a show or a web series. Moreover, Kaushal is sure that the entertainment and event industry that has suffered massively in one year shall recover from all the losses that happened during the pandemic.
