Etihad is enabling travelers to use the International Air Transport Association’s Travel Pass app on seven routes from its Abu Dhabi hub: to Bangkok, Barcelona, Geneva, Madrid, Milan, New York and Singapore.

The carrier was among the first to begin testing the Travel Pass app, in which travelers can see their destination’s health requirements and upload relevant documentation to get confirmation that they are cleared to travel, speeding up their airport journey. Etihad Aviation Group COO Mohammad Al Bulooki in a statement said that customer feedback during the trial “was positive, with Etihad’s guests appreciating its ease-of-use and data security.” The carrier is working with IATA to add the Travel Pass capability to more routes, according to the carrier.

The IATA Travel Pass also can manage uploaded vaccine certificates, including the European Union’s Digital Covid Certificate, which is issued by member states as well as Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, and vaccine certificates from Qatar and Singapore.
