I randomly heard the phrase “murder robe” a few months ago (fine, it was on TikTok), and ever since then I’ve been super amused by the prospect. You can also call it an “Old Hollywood Glamour” kind of robe — or, as Vogue called it, a “rich widow robe.”

As The Sydney Herald suggested, it’s the perfect thing to wear when you need to shoot your rich husband — but a lot of people seem to be using the robes for photo shoots (bridal, boudoir, and maternity!) — and I’m sure the OTT nature of it will appeal to some people as well.

Delightfully, if you search on Amazon or Etsy for “murder robe,” a bunch of options come up. This particular one is under $150 and will arrive before Christmas, should you need it by then…
