Team India has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate in the fifth and final game of the T20I series against England. The team was found two overs short of the required target and thus were fined 40 percent of their match fees.

According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, the Indian players were fined 20 percent of their match fees for every over they failed to bowl in the allotted time. 

This was the second time that India have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate in the series after they were ruled one over short in one of the earlier games in the series.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli accepted the sanction levelled by the on-field umpires Anil Chaudhary and Nitin Menon and the third umpire KN Ananthapadmanabhan and imposed by match referee Javagal Srinath. Therefore, no formal hearing was required for the same.
