Architectural, witty, interesting heels are a trend right now — but are they appropriate for all offices? Let’s discuss.

As a reminder, these are some of the wackier heels we’ve featured lately. The metal stiletto of the All Saints heel caused a bit of controversy in the comments — there were many who really, really did not like the look.

What are your thoughts, readers? If SOME are appropriate, but not all, where do you think the boundary lines are (beyond “being able to walk in it”)?

For my $.02: I would argue that the ones at top are at least grounded more in office attire (“work heel with a twist!” kind of things), whereas the bottom shoes are a bit farther flung.

(The Loewe collection is a lot of fun to look at, fwiw – in addition to roses like above, they’re using nail polish bottles, lipstick, and a bar of soap for the heel shape.)
