While reports have been surfacing since a few hours about Alia Bhatt contracting the novel coronavirus, the actress has now herself confirmed testing positive for the same. The ‘Highway’ actress took to her Instagram handle to share that she tested positive for the coronavirus and is under home quarantine. “Hello all, I have tested positive for COVID 19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors. Grateful for all your love & support. Please stay safe & take care,” read Alia’s note on her Instagram story.

Earlier, ETimes exclusively had that the actress has tested positive for COVID-19, once the General Secretary Ashok Dubey of FWICE, (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) shared. ETimes also has it that, Alia immediately left the set when her reports came in at 8:45 pm. We have also heard that the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi will now not take place for the next 10 days at least.

Earlier in the evening, the actress was snapped with beau Ranbir Kapoor in town, post their dubbing session. They would soon be sharing the screen space for Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’.

This week, it was confirmed that Paresh Rawal, Milind Soman also tested positive for the virus. This week, several Bollywood celebrities had tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. Rohit Saraf, Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Bappi Lahiri confirmed that they are going into quarantine due to Covid-19 diagnosis. Meanwhile, Alia’s boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor who had earlier tested positive for the virus is recovering and now tested negative for the same. She was currently shooting for her upcoming film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
