When one talks about cricket and cricketers, things that come to mind are the feeling of playing for your country, fame, and also money. However, there are some exceptions. While there are players who earn millions every year and lead an extremely lavish lifestyle, there are some who have accumulated wealth by representing their nation in various leagues across the world.

However, there is the other side as well where the sport has not been so kind to many cricketers. Such an incident happened to Ryan Burl, whose tweet will surely melt the heart of a cricket fan.

Taking to Twitter, the Zimbabwe cricketer posted a photo with some torn shoes and asked whether anyone would be willing to sponsor shoes for the Zimbabwe cricket team. He added it would be great as the players would not have to glue the shoes back every time after a series gets over.

“Any chance we can get a sponsor so we don’t have to glue our shoes back after every series,” tweeted Burl.

Ryan Burl has been a part of the Zimbabwe side since 2017. Burl has represented Zimbabwe in 3 Tests, 18 ODIs, and 25 T20Is.

Burl has scored 24 runs and has scalped 4 wickets in the Test while in the ODI format he has scored 243 runs and has also picked up 7 wickets. In the T20I format, the left-hander has plundered 393 runs and has scalped 15 wickets.

The Zimbabwe side last played a two-match Test series against Pakistan at home. The Zimbabwe outfit was thrashed by Pakistan in both Test matches.

As for Ryan Burl, he was last seen in action on April 25, 2021, in the third T20I between Zimbabwe and Pakistan. Burl gave away 33 runs in the 4 overs that he bowled and did not get a chance to wield the willow against the Pakistan side.
