AEW Dynamite advertised a Blood and Guts television special featuring a War Games-style match between The Inner Circle and The Parley. Blood and Guts is expected to take up much of the second hour.

Dynamite also advertised Cody Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa vs. Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston, Rhodes vs. QT Marshall, Britt Baker in action and a Fatal 4-Way to determine the No. 1 Contender for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston def. Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa

I liked how the announce team immediately called Don Callis out for lying when he said Kenny Omega was not in the building.

Michael Nakazawa taking his t-shirt off like “now, I’m serious” was hilarious.

Tony Schiavone called out Matt Jackson for his “shower curtain” gear.

Instead of delivering a super kick, Matt Jackson instead slapped Eddie Kingston with a white shoe, which seems like even more of an insult.

Cody Rhodes def. QT Marshall

Tony Schiavone said Arn Anderson was in “the first Blood and Guts,” which tells me, in AEW lore, the lineage of Blood and Guts will be tied to WarGames.

QT Marshall kicking out of the Cross Rhodes felt like it meant more than if he would have won this match.

Cody Rhodes was pouring blood by the end of this match (the hard way), which couldn’t have made Chris Jericho, MJF and company happy as they prepared for their Blood and Guts match.

AEW should not put Cody Rhodes with Anthony Agogo until he build up a dominant win streak while using his knockout punch.

Britt Baker def. Julia Hart

Reba doesn’t even pretend to limp while carrying around a crutch for a fake injury, and it’s perfect for her heel character.

As Jim Ross astutely noted, Julia Hart is not a member of the Hart family.

SCU def. The Jurassic Express, The Varsity Blondes and The Acclaimed

As promised, Brian Pillman Jr. wore his dad Cincinnati Bengals trunks just in time to hear a slick Dark Side of the Ring reference from Max Caster.

Next week, on a television show, with a one-week build sounds like too little fanfare for what could be Chris Daniels’ last match.

Kenny Omega Confronts Orange Cassidy

The crowd of about 1,500 sounded great all night, and when Kenny Omega asked them if they were ready for Blood and Guts, it sounded like 20,000 people were in the building.

AEW made Hangman Adam Page wrestle one match after another while he was No. 1 Contender, and one week after he finally lost, AEW announced a No. 1 Contender match with two contenders who are suddenly above him. If I were Hangman Adam Page, I’d be furious.

Fans were not happy with Kenny Omega stealing Orange Cassidy’s sunglasses.

Based on the fact that AEW made this segment about Kenny Omega and Orange Cassidy, that sounds like a huge spoiler for next week’s match between Cassidy and Pac.

The Pinnacle def. The Inner Circle—AEW Blood and Guts

The Pinnacle wore white while The Inner Circle wore coveralls dedicated to various prisons in their hometowns.

Dax Harwood wasted no time bleeding, and based on how much he was bleeding this early, I legit wondered whether he’d be able to finish this match.

The first great spot of this match came when Sammy Guevara performed a springboard Spanish Fly on Shawn Spears from one ring to the next.

This match used great production for various showdowns, such as Wardlow-Hager and Guevara-Spears.

The announce team talked about MJF like he was a coward for waiting to go last, but top babyface Chris Jericho turned around and did the exact same thing.

Santana gauged a bloody MJF with a fork and then licked the fork clean.

Poor Sammy Guevara not only agreed to give The Pinnacle the man advantage, he was the Inner Circle member who ultimately surrendered.

The wide shot of Chris Jericho going off the top of the cage was savage.
