WestJet Names Chief Loyalty Officer

WestJet on Monday named former Virgin Australia executive Karl Schuster EVP and chief loyalty officer, the latter a newly created position. He will be responsible for “growing WestJet’s loyalty program, products, services and partnerships through innovation and leadership,” according to the company. Formerly CEO of Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer loyalty program, Schuster has stints with Qantas and British Airways during a career with nearly two decades of loyalty experience, according to WestJet. Schuster plans to join WestJet in early 2022, “following the completion of the immigration process,” according to the carrier.
