The Best New Movies To Stream On Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO, Disney+ And Peacock This Week

[ad_1]

The major streaming platforms add most of their new movies at the beginning of each month. But what about the rest of the month? Luckily, we’ve got you covered. This article will detail every new movie you can stream over the next seven days, between April 11-17.

And this week is a hefty one! In total, there will be 39 new movies to choose from between Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Max, Disney+ and Peacock (a large portion of those films belongs to Netflix).

Here are the highlight movies to check out. At the end of the article, you’ll find a full list of every new film you can stream this week.

The Master (Netflix)

Paul Thomas Anderson is absolutely unstoppable. He went from making ensemble classics like Boogie Nights and Magnolia in the 1990s to creating intense single-character studies in the aughts with Punch-Drunk Love and There Will Be Blood. And he didn’t miss a single step in the 2010s—a decade he kicked off with The Master. This dark drama centers on a troubled drifter who gets sucked into a religious cult.

The Master will be available to stream on Netflix on April 15.

Somewhere (Amazon Prime)

Sofia Coppola has built herself quite the loyal fanbase—for good reason, too. The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette. These are all atmospheric, vibrant classics from one of the great modern auteurs. But, to this day, one of the director’s most overlooked gems remains Somewhere. The film follows a rebellious actor who reexamines his life after reconnecting with his daughter.

Somewhere will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on April 16.

Fly Like a Girl (Hulu)

Like most professional fields these days, it seems, the world of flight is also dominated by men. But things are changing as more and more women make their marks in aviation—a trend that is the central focus of Fly Like a Girl. The documentary follows a group of young girls who have pursued their love of flying.

Fly Like a Girl will be available to stream on Hulu on April 16.

The Dark Knight Rises (HBO Max)

It’s been fascinating to watch the progression of Batman films over the decades. Each era has offered its share of highs and lows. But most people seem to agree that Christopher Nolan delivered the best Batman movies with the Dark Knight trilogy. The Dark Knight Rises is the final film of that set. The movie takes place eight years after The Dark Knight when a terrorist named Bane targets Gotham City.

The Dark Knight Rises will be available to stream on HBO Max on April 17.

The Kid Who Would Be King (Disney+)

Disney, of course, is known for its family-friendly entertainment. Often their projects are designed to empower children—and that is certainly the case with 2019’s The Kid Who Would Be King. The fantasy film follows a boy named Alex, who joins forces with Merlin to conquer evil after he stumbles upon the mythical sword Excalibur.

The Kid Who Would Be King will be available to stream on Disney+ on April 16.

Fist Fight (Peacock)

The collision of Ice Cube and Charlie Day in a comedy is a recipe for success. And that became clear with Fist Fight, a movie in which Day’s character Andy is pressured into fighting a bully teacher (Strickland, played by Ice Cube) on the last day of school.

Fist Fight will be available to stream on Peacock on April 16.
