Hugo Weaving grew up as a Third Culture Kid and has made his way to having a successful career as an actor.

Weaving was born in Nigeria but spent most of his life moving around due to his father’s career. A majority of his childhood he lived between Nigeria, England and Australia.

According to IMDb, Weaving found his passion for acting when he lived in England for a few years during his teenage years. He spent the following years studying and pursuing his acting career. Thefamouspeople.net says he attended the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney, Australia. Following his graduation there, he landed a small role in a film, “… Maybe This Time” in 1981. After that, Weaving has performed in multiple films and shows and has played large roles in well-known films.

Elrond is the Elf-Lord of Rivendell (Middle Earth setting in the movie and book) who is over 3,000 years old. The storyline is about a hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, who journeys through this fictional world to reclaim the Kingdom of Erebor.

“V for Vendetta” is a science-fiction thriller about a dystopian world that is occupied by a fascist government and opposed by a vigilante. Weaving plays the vigilante that is referred to as “V” who fights against the government. “V” saves a TV reporter, Evey (played by Natalie Portman), from the police. Then he forces her to join him throughout the night.

“The Matrix” is another science fiction thriller movie that Weaving appears in. He plays Agent Smith who is the main antagonist of the underworld. Neo (played by Keanu Reeves), a computer programmer, along with others journey to the underworld to try to figure out and try to defeat The Matrix.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” is the first movie of “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy. Weaving again plays the Elf-Lord Elrond in these movies. “The Lord of the Rings” is set 30 years after “The Hobbit.”

Twenty years after the premiere of “Fellowship,” an Amazon series is in production. Weaving told Variety that he is not interested in being a part of the series because, “I think everyone has had more than enough of it.”

“Captain America: The First Avenger”

This is a Marvel movie about super soldier Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America. Weaving’s role in this movie is Red Skull, the supervillain in the movie. After Steve was rejected from the military he was chosen to become a super soldier and Captain America was born. Captain America tries to defeat Red Skull during the ongoing war.

Weaving is a successful actor and it all began when he was a teenager. Since then, Weaving has found his career to be exciting and interesting as he told Bow Street Academy:

I have always been fascinated by the process of acting and it shifts and changes with each character that I play. So that’s the joy of it and that’s the pleasure of it and that’s the science of it. You know we are infinitely extraordinary creatures I think. That’s what keeps me going.
