Rishabh Pant, the left-handed wicket-keeper batsman has played some outrageous and unreal shots in his cricketing career in the past, however, he pulled off something extraordinary on Friday on the second day of the fourth Test against England on the way to his maiden Test hundred on the homes soil.
Pant was batting on 89 and closing in on a much-deserved hundred. However, what he did on the next ball, no one expected, not even the Indian fans, let alone the England players. A short of a good length ball from one of the modern greats of cricket, James Anderson, Pant had made up his mind to do the reverse lap. As soon as Anderson was through his stride, Pant changed his stance, waited for the ball and swept it over the slip cordon to get another boundary and get to 93.

This was as casual as it gets. The players in the slip, the bowler, the fielders, all the England players were stunned as no one in their dreams would have thought the 23-year old would attempt this kind of a shot and pull it off with such ease. Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff too, shared his feelings after seeing that shot.
The Twitterati couldn’t hold themselves back from praising that ‘insane’ shot from the swashbuckling southpaw.
Here are some of the reactions:
Just a casual picture of @RishabhPant17 reverse sweeping the swing king and one of the greatest of all time – James Anderson for a boundary.
The bravest there ever was , the bravest there ever will be – Rishabh Pant. pic.twitter.com/mFs0IXXRy2
