The UFC got a new champion on Saturday when Francis Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic in the second round of their rematch at UFC 260.

The first time these two met, Miocic did a good job of taking the power strikes from his opponent, tiring him out and then using his wrestling to control the fight. Leading up to the rematch, we heard Ngannou had worked hard to correct the problems from the first fight, but had seen no evidence of that. We saw those claims were true when Ngannou came out patient and then stopped a takedown in the first round.

Ngannou had cardio left in the second round and he was able to hurt Miocic with his striking. Miocic, after getting dropped made the mistake of pushing forward with his hands down. That was all Ngannou needed to finish the fight and take the belt.

After the fight, the speculation began as to who Ngannou would face in his first defense of the heavyweight title. It seems as if Jon Jones and Derrick Lewis are the frontrunners.
