Resident Evil 4 is coming to VR. Capcom announced the critically-acclaimed installment is getting a full VR port for the Oculus Quest 2.It’s been 16 years since Resident Evil 4 was first released on consoles, and although it’s received several HD ports since, Resident Evil 4 is now jumping to a new format. Resident Evil 4 VR is being developed in collaboration with Capcom, Facebook, and Armature Studios for a new spin on Resident Evil 4.The biggest change is that Resident Evil 4 VR will be in first-person, like many of the biggest VR games. Players can hold weapons in their hands and interact with the world first-hand.

Facebook is keeping details under wraps for now, though the short gameplay footage showed things like Leon holding weapons, interacting with a virtual attache case, and using a virtual hand-crank for one of the puzzles.

Resident Evil 4 is a popular entry into the Resident Evil franchise. Originally released in 2005, Resident Evil 4 stars RE2 star Leon Kennedy who now works for the United States government. He must rescue the President’s daughter who’s been kidnapped by an evil cult somewhere in Europe.

Kennedy will also appear in the Netflix animated movie Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness alongside his RE2 co-star Claire Redfield where they must keep President Graham safe from a zombie outbreak in the white house.

More details will be revealed on April 21 during an Oculus Facebook showcase. For more from today’s Resident Evil showcase, check out IGN for Resident Evil Village demo dates and more.
