Nearly a year after the death of George Floyd rocked the U.S., opening arguments are slated to begin Monday in the trial of the white former Minneapolis Police officer charged with killing him. Derek Chauvin, a 19-year veteran of the force, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges for the death of the 46-year-old Black man.
