Actress, model and entrepreneur, Nazanin Mandi, has officially launched her new intimates and lingerie line, Elle Reve. Mandi began designing the collection back in 2018 after her wedding to musician, Miguel. “I started designing the line in 2018. Right after our wedding. I had just a bunch of designs, like literally a folder of things that we narrowed down. But I initially wanted to start the line because I’ve always been obsessed with lingerie. I feel like you can literally transform yourself with any piece. We can become a character,” she said. “We could wear it for our man or girl or ourselves and the right lingerie gives the right amount of confidence. And I love that. I want women to feel their best at all times.
Mandi wanted to ensure that Elle Reve was also functional. From very simple basics, essentials, workout wear, loungewear to elevated lingerie. Another important touch point for Mandi was the size inclusion. “We all come in different shapes and sizes that should be celebrated. If I couldn’t make that happen with Elle Reve, I would take it personally. I made a point to make sure we at least made it to XXL,” she shared. “I think a lot of lingerie brands come off very exclusive which puts out the message if you’re certain size, you shouldn’t feel sexy. It’s time that the industry changes this narrative”
As lingerie lover it came to Mandi’s surprise to walk for Rihanna in the Savage x Fenty fashion show that aired on Amazon in the Fall of 2020. “It was a total dream. I didn’t even know that it was in the realm of things I could do. Growing up I watched the Victoria’s Secret every year and I always knew, that would never happen for me in my life. I don’t have that body type. I just don’t. So to have this opportunity, it was shocking. I can’t even really describe it. I cried happy tears because I just never thought something like this would happen. I never thought I’d be walking on a show like this, like at all.”
To her earlier point of the industry not including curvier body types walking in the show validated her mission of launching Elle Reve even more. Dreaming big has always been a big part of Mandi’s life which is the inspiration behind the name of Elle Reve which translates to she dreams. “It was the perfect name for what I was doing. It was a perfect name that represents me. I’ve always been a dreamer. The name is a perfect fit for an intimates brands. It was my love of simplicity, my love of functional pieces that I’ve always had and always use. I love that with my pieces you could wear them day and night,” she explained.
All of Mandi’s pieces come in sizes xs-xxl with everything under $200 making it accessible for all women. The collection can be found at ellereve.com.
