Monster Hunter Rise Is Out Friday – Here's What Comes in Each Edition

Must Read

Monster Hunter Rise is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. It’s pretty much the biggest game releasing this month, so it should be a good time even for newcomers to the series to hop in. It will be available in three different editions and is up for preorder right now at a number of retailers (see it on Amazon). Read on for the details.

Three Monster Hunter Rise amiibo will be released as well, and they’re available to preorder exclusively from GameStop. Capcom says each amiibo will unlock a special layered armor.

What to Expect from Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise will feature seamless open-world environments, with areas featuring more verticality than in previous entries. To help you scale the new heights, your character will be equipped with a Wirebug that functions like a grappling hook to fling you around.

You’re accompanied on your hunts by an adorable dog-like character called a Palamute. This furry friend helps you in combat and lets you hop on its back to ride quickly through the game world. In terms of the monsters you’ll encounter, it’s a mix of beasts from previous entries, like Arzuros, as well as new creatures like a giant bird called Aknosom, an amphibious creature called Tetranadon. The new flagship monster this time around is Magnamalo
