JetBlue and Ireland-based carrier Aer Lingus have expanded their codeshare agreement to a bilateral partnership. JetBlue will place its code on four routes, between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston’s Logan International Airport to each Dublin Airport and Shannon Airport.

The carriers since 2013 have had a unilateral codesharing agreement, in which Aer Lingus placed its code on flights to dozens of JetBlue destinations.

Benefits to flyers include having a single ticket for flights operated by both carriers, one-stop check-in and baggage transfer, and for passengers traveling to the United States from Ireland, customs pre-clearance prior to departing Dublin or Shannon.

JetBlue plans to add its code to other select Aer Lingus routes beyond Ireland in the near future, according to the company.
