Reports of Govinda contracting Covid-19 came soon after Akshay Kumar tested positive with the virus this morning. However, he is now recovering. His wife Sunita told ETimes a few minutes ago that he has a cold and a bodyache. We are also told that Govinda has quarantined himself at his Juhu bungalow and not at his flat situated opposite the bungalow. “Our kids, Narmmadaa and Yashvardhan, are in the flat,” Sunita revealed. Govinda’s personal staff is usually at the bungalow and not the flat.

Sunita elaborated that Govinda was slightly indisposed since a week. “He had symptoms of a cold and we thought it would be best if he could get a COVID test done as those symptoms were not receding. His senses of smell and taste are intact, he has no fever either. Importantly, he is eating well. Currently, he has just a bodyache and cold.”

For those who’ve come in late, Sunita had contracted COVID about three weeks ago. “I think I got infected in Kolkata. Govinda and I had gone there for a channel’s show. There was quite a bit of crowd and a mad rush for taking our pictures; the people were getting too close. I developed a few symptoms after returning to Mumbai and got myself tested. Unfortunately, the result was positive. Anyway, I am okay now, but now it’s him.”
