Exclusive! Alia Bhatt’s COVID Report: “We have been informed that she has tested positive,” says FWICE | Hindi Movie News

Reports have been flying thick and fast suggesting and speculating that Alia Bhatt has contracted COVID. Clearly, the second wave of this disease seems to be scarier than the first. ETimes got in touch with FWICE, (Federation of Western India Cine Employees), General Secretary Ashok Dubey, who said, “Yes, I have got to know that Alia has tested positive for COVID”.

Dubey explained how he got the information. “A technician from ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi‘ unit called me a little before 9pm to say that they have packed up for the day. When I asked him why, he said that a lead actor of the film had tested positive. Then, I called Chetan who heads the production responsibilities of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions who informed me that it was Alia who had been infected”.

Added Dubey, “Later, I spoke to Sonu Srivastav, who is the Dance Co-ordinator on ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. He too confirmed that Alia had tested positive”.

However Chetan told us that he hadn’t attended the proceedings since the last 2 days. Perhaps, he did not want to divulge anything.

ETimes also has it that, Alia immediately left the set when her reports came in at 8:45 pm. We have also heard that the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi will now not take place for the next 10 days at least.

We then texted Soni Razdan and Alia Bhatt about the same, but did not get any response. Our calls too went unanswered. A couple of weeks back, Bhansali had tested positive. This had sent a lot of film’s unit members including Alia, to go in for a COVID test. That time, Alia had however tested negative. She also underwent the test again when her beau Ranbir Kapoor tested positive around the same time.

This evening Alia was spotted (pic above) dubbing with Ranbir. It is unconfirmed but it seems that it was for Brahmastra.

We also texted Bhansali’s spokesperson, who did not revert.

Speaking to Jayantilal Gada, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ producer, did not yield more information as he suggested that we should speak to SLB Productions’ CEO Prerna Singh who also remained evasive.
