After news of Akshay Kumar testing positive for coronavirus broke, it is now being reported that the actor has been admitted to the Hiranandani hospital in Powai at around 5 pm yesterday. However, we are yet to get an official confirmation on the same. Earlier, the actor had taken to social media to inform that he was under home quarantine.

Informing fans that he will be back in action shortly, Akshay had also urged all those who may have come in contact with him to get themselves tested. He wrote, “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols I have immediately isolated myself. I’m under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon!”

Akshay Kumar had recently begun shooting for the film, ‘Ram Setu’ with Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha, in which he is essaying the role of an archaeologist. The superstar was shooting for the same at Madh island yesterday.

As confirmed by FWICE, the Monday shoot of the film now stands cancelled because Akshay, who has the central role in the film has contracted Covid. A source says, “It is unlikely that the shoot will resume before 13/14 days at least.”
