After living in a state of oblivion for over a decade, actress-turned-producer Rimi Sen is all set to make a comeback in the film industry.

An actress who has worked with some of the major banners in the film industry “disappeared” after her films ‘Shagird’ and ‘Thank You’ released in 2011.

But seems like Rimi, who was part of hit films like ‘Baghban’, ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Golmaal’ among others, has been itching to make a comeback ever since she got impressed with the OTT content that has changed the entire industry’s landscape and the way content is viewed in the entertainment world.

And even though her last film was in 2011, Rimi did participate in the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss 9’ in the year 2015. She was, however, not liked much by the viewers who claimed Rimi was laid back and disinterested in the show. Rimi remained in the Bigg Boss house for nearly two months before eventually being voted out.

Recently, during an exclusive chat with DNA where Rimi spoke about her comeback in the film industry, she also revealed why she chose to participate in the controversial reality show and cleared the air around claims that Bigg Boss fans made back then.

When asked about her stint in the controversial reality show and why did she participate in it in the first place, Rimi told DNA, “I participated in Bigg Boss because they gave me a lot of money, around 2.2 crores they paid me for 35 days. In totality, I was paid approximately 2.5 crores and I had a five-week contract with them. And for every additional week, I was getting Rs 10 lakh. It was a lot of money. It is very difficult to earn so much money in 35 days.”

Stating further what she liked about the show and why did she seem disinterested, Rimi said “What I like about Bigg Boss is that it is an interesting show. What people see is that the show is only about fights, but they don’t see that the show brings celebrities and locks them up inside a house and by way of tasks etc brings out the worse side of them. So, I knew exactly what not to do. When people live in the Bigg Boss house, it’s a different world. There are cameras rolling 24 hours. A person can pretend some a week or two, but after that, their real side comes out. That is interesting. As a show, Bigg Boss is very good but exactly knew what not to do. Because on the show either the contestants will insult you or Bigg Boss will somehow or the other bring out your bad side and that is what I did not what – to lose respect. That is why I remained calm.”

On being asked if she would like to participate in any other reality show if given a chance, the ‘Dhoom’ star told DNA in an exclusive chat, “I don’t want to do any reality shows. I can’t relate to them. I don’t like coming in front of the camera too much. A film is a different thing, but reality shows are a different ball game. It takes a lot of guts. I don’t think I have it in me since I like to stay aloof.”
