Delta Air Lines is extending SkyMiles Medallion status for current members through 2022, the carrier announced this week.

Current Medallion status, including for those in the invite-only Delta 360 program, now will last through Jan. 31, 2023, and qualification miles for this year will roll into next year, counting toward 2023 Medallion status, according to Delta. Members who travel enough this year to earn status for next year, meanwhile, will be given priority for complimentary upgrades over those whose status was extended, starting Feb. 1.

The bonuses announced earlier this year that enable travelers to earn status at a faster rate are set to expire on Dec. 31, but Delta has extended its policy of letting award travel count toward status through Dec. 31, 2022.
