David Hogg, fully vaccinated, keeps mask on so liberal strangers don’t think ‘I’m a conservative’

Don’t expect fully vaccinated liberal activist David Hogg to take his mask off anytime soon.

The failed Good Pillow LLC entrepreneur told supporters that shots against COVID-19 can’t innoculate him from the perception that he’s conservative without a mask at this time.

“I feel the need to continue wearing my mask outside even though I’m fully vaccinated because the inconvenience of having to wear a mask is more than worth it to have people not think I’m a conservative,” Mr. Hogg told his 1.1 million Twitter followers Friday.

The comment came less than 24 hours after liberal MSNBC host Rachel Maddow told viewers that her kneejerk behavior upon seeing maskless Americans is to judge them as a “threat” or a “COVID denier.”

“I feel like I’m going to have to rewire myself so that when I see someone out in the world who’s not wearing a mask, I don’t instantly think, ‘You are a threat,’” she said during her closing monologue Thursday evening. “Or you are selfish or you are a COVID denier and you definitely haven’t been vaccinated. I mean, we’re going to have to rewire the way that we look at each other.”

Mr. Hogg told followers that living among liberal activists has made him very cognizant of being judged.

“I feel like this is something you can especially understand if you’re in a very liberal area where 99% of the people you see are wearing masks,” the gun control activist added in a follow-up tweet.

The pair’s commentary comes in the wake of CDC Director Rochelle Walensky’s announcement that fully vaccinated individuals can confidently abandon masks indoors and outdoors unless using public transportation, planes or trains.
