Contrary to media reports, actor Dalip Tahil‘s son Dhruv has not been arrested in a drug case. DCP Chaitanya confirmed to ETimes, “He has not been arrested but a case has been registered under section 505(2), 500 IPC and the investigation is going on.”

When contacted, an upset Dalip Tahil denied the arrest of his son and said, “I don’t want to comment at the moment.”

According to the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Bandra Unit, the police had arrested drug peddler Muzammil AR Shaikh on April 20 and recovered 35 gms of Mephedrone from him. After further investigation of his cell phone records, the police found that Dhruv had made demands for narcotics drugs several times from Shaikh on WhatsApp.

As per IANS, Dhruv had also deposited money in Shaikh’s account with the Bank of India through his Yes Bank account six times for purchasing drugs. Police said Dhruv was in touch with Shaikh from March 2019 till now.

Further investigations are underway in the drugs case lodged by the ANC Bandra Unit involving Shaikh.
