Big wicket! Kyle Jamieson first wicket in IPL as Suryakumar Yadav departs

Kyle Jamieson, the 6’8″ tall kiwi pacer took the big wicket of Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav in his first game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The 26-year old had a fantastic start to his IPL career as he bowled two good economical overs and got the success finally in his third.

Jamieson, who was picked up by the Bangalore-based franchise for a whopping sum of INR 15 crores, was featuring in the first game of his IPL career. RCB were in desperate need of a wicket after Suryakumar Yadav and Chris Lynn had stitched a fast partnership to rebuild the innings for the Mumbai Indians after losing Rohit Sharma.

Jamieson returned for his third over in the 11th over of the innings when Mumbai Indians were flying and were looking dangerous for a big total. But, the tall pacer had other plans.

He used his height to the fullest extent as he bowled a shorter delivery outside the off-stump and Surya tried to cut the ball away but could only get an outside edge into the hands of the wicket-keeper AB de Villiers.

Earlier, skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bowl in the tournament opener against the Mumbai Indians.
