Police have identified remains discovered in a forest reserve west of Chicago as those of former United Airlines SVP of worldwide sales Jake Cefolia, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Cefolia, a 13-year veteran with United, had been reported as missing since Aug. 8, 2020, and authorities had been searching the Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve in DuPage County, Ill., where Cefolia’s car was found. His body was found on Friday in a densely wooded area of the preserve, and authorities confirmed his identity through dental records, according to the report.

Police are conducting a death investigation but did not see any signs of foul play, according to the report.

United Airlines in a statement said they “were sad to hear the news about our former colleague Jake, and our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. We remain grateful for the support and prayers that so many of our employees, including Jake’s co-workers, have shared with one another and on his behalf over the past year.”
