Air France expects to restore about 90 percent of its pre-pandemic capacity to the United States by March 2022, the carrier announced.

The carrier plans to “progressively increase” capacity to its 11 U.S. destinations when travel restrictions lift for vaccinated travelers next month. Capacity growth will come from additional frequencies to New York, Miami and Los Angeles as well as up-gauging aircraft on current U.S. routes, according to Air France. The carrier’s service to Seattle will resume on Dec. 6, with three weekly flights.

Air France also is adding four new destinations to its long-haul network from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport: Zanzibar, Tanzania, starting Oct. 18; Muscat, Oman, starting Oct. 31; Colombo, Sri Lanka, starting Nov. 1; and Banjul, the Gambia, starting Nov. 1.

In addition, Air France will restart service to several destinations that have been paused since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic: Fortaleza, Brazil, starting Oct. 22; Mahé, Seychelles, starting Oct. 23; Cape Town, South Africa, starting Oct. 31; and Hong Kong, starting Nov. 5.

For its medium-haul network, Air France will introduce its Airbus A220 aircraft, which cuts carbon emissions by 20 percent, on Oct. 31 for its routes to Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan and Venice. It will add the aircraft for its routes to Bologna, Rome, Lisbon and Copenhagen later in the winter.

Air France plans to add two new medium-haul destinations from Paris this winter: Tenerife, Canary Islands, starting Nov. 1, and Rovaniemi, Finland, starting Dec. 4.
